The Evensong is the newest bow that came out in the Jade Shadows update, alongside two other weapons that share a similar theme with the latest Warframe. While many consider it as a utility armament, players have found ways to optimize its build to produce powerful DPS outputs. It probably can’t compete with the top weapons in the meta with its base form, but it becomes enjoyable to play when you use the right loadouts. This guide will show players how to build the Evensong weapon.

Evensong Overview

The Evensong is the Warframe Jade’s signature bow that applies Slash and Puncture status effects on enemies. It also grants users Multishot passive on every kill, increasing the number of targets affected by the debuff. Each Shot also produces explosions on impact with a surface or with an enemy, which also applies a different stack of the Status Effect. However, one of the leading issues players have with the Evensong is that the Multishot passive can only activate upon kills, so you need to ensure that you have the right mods to ramp up the damage of your bow.

How to Unlock the Evensong Weapon

You have to collect the blueprint for the Evensong before you can craft it in your Foundry. Players can get the schematics from Ascension and Ordis in Larunda Relay on Mercury. Finishing Ascension Operations gives you a 5% drop chance for this Evensong blueprint, so you may have to run this game mode multiple times. We recommend this method among the two because farming Ascension also gives you the chance to gain Jade Parts and other weapons schematics.

If you aren’t lucky, you can buy the schematics for this bow from Ordis in Larunda Relay for 300 Vestigial Motes. However, farming Motes can take quite a lot since you can only gain a limited number of this currency every run, so you might have to run more than 30 Ascensions to gain enough to buy the schematics. You might have already looted the blueprints via your runs by this time. Once you’ve obtained the schematics, here are all the materials you need to craft the weapon:

  • 15,000 Credits
  • 700 Salvage Parts
  • 1,100 Plastids
  • 20 Gallium
  • 10 Control Module

The whole process will take about 12 hours in real-time, but you can speed up the crafting process by spending 45 Platinum.

Best Warframe Evensong Mods

Evensong doesn’t shine as a primary DPS weapon in its base form. It would help if you used the right mods to optimize the mods you use on the Evensong to maximize your damage and make the most out of the passive. Here is everything you need for this weapon:

Best Evensong Mods Loadout

  • Vigilante Supplies: Vigilante Supplies allows you to pump out more shots by letting you collect Secondary Ammo as Primary Ammo. This mod removes the worry about you running out of shots, so you can keep spamming your Primary Fire to stack more Slash and Puncture effects on targets. More shots also mean more Multishots after killing enemies.
  • Serration: This mod should be the most important one since it increases the base damage of your shots by +15% and +165% if you max it out. Increasing your Primary DPS ensures you can kill your targets and activate Multishot, increasing attack output.
  • Galvanized Chamber: Multishots increase your chances of stacking Slash and Puncture, which will help the passive Multishot on kill. Galvanized Chamber might seem repetitive, but it allows you to fire multiple shots even if you don’t take down targets. This ensures that most of your Primary Fire will be Multishots so that you can keep stacking Slash and Puncture on multiple targets.
  • Vital Sense: Any bow benefits greatly from having Vital Sense because it increases your CRIT Damage by +120%. This effect depends on the penetration damage or explosion as long as it’s from your Primary Fire. The increased CRIT Damage also ensures you kill most targets, activating your Multishot attacks. Each multiple projectile also gains this increased critical damage, so the mod improves your overall damage.
  • Vigilante Armaments: This mod further increases your Multishots even without the passive. On top of this, it adds a chance to boost your Critical Hits from Primary Weapons by 5%, further boosting your damage. While it slightly improves your direct attacks, it increases your chance to fire multiple shots, indirectly raising your overall DPS.
  • Point Strike: Point Strike significantly boosts your overall damage in many aspects since it increases your CRIT Chance. Aside from ensuring you kill your targets to activate the Multishot passive, it also increases the chances of each projectile landing critical hits, increasing Evensong's DPS output.
  • Malignant Force: Malignant Force is an excellent mod to add because you ramp up your chances of applying Status Effects and Toxin. You can inflict Slash, Puncture, and Toxin debuffs with your multishots, increasing the Status Effect stacks you apply with Evensong. If you are using the Jade Warframe, you can proc all these debuffs to deal total damage immediately.
  • High Voltage: While you don’t apply electric attacks with your shots unless you mod Evensong, we take high voltage purely for the additional status chance processes. It allows us to stack Slash and Puncture more frequently.
  • Hunter Munitions: Hunter Munitions ramp up your Slash Status Effects because it lets you apply more stacks of this when landing Critical Hits. Since CRIT attacks can apply with your Multishot, you also use more Slash to many enemies.

Arcane Primary Deadhead: Primary Deadhead might be tricky to run, but the rewards are worth it if you can consistently land headshots. It ramps up your damage to greater heights while reducing recoil so that you can aim more precisely.

Alternate Build

  • Split Chamber: Split Chamber flat-out increases your chance of firing Multishots. It removes the need to kill enemies to activate your passive so that you can stack more Status Effects on targets. On top of this, you fire more projectiles if you activate the weapon’s passive with this mod.
  • Argon Scope: Since you are most likely aiming for Headshots when using bows, then Argon Scope would provide a greater damage output due to the additional CRIT Chance upon successfully hitting heads. Combining this with Primary Deadhead lets you quickly kill most enemies with well-placed shots.
  • Critical Delay: If you have Argon Scope and Primary Deadhead, then Critical Delay should be a good fit. While it significantly reduces your fire rate, it tremendously boosts your Critical Chance hits, enhancing your maximum damage. You make the most of this since you are going for well-aimed shots to the head.
  • Vital Sense: Any bow benefits greatly from having Vital Sense because it increases your CRIT Damage by +120%. This effect depends on the penetration damage or explosion as long as it’s coming from your Primary Fire. The increased CRIT Damage also ensures you kill most targets, activating your Multishot attacks. Each multiple projectile also gains this increased critical damage, so the mod improves your overall damage.
  • Vile Acceleration: Vile acceleration slightly offsets critical delay by increasing the fire rate of your weapon. The tradeoff is minimal because it only reduces your damage by a small percentage, which doesn’t negate the benefits of Critical Delay.
  • Rime Rounds: This mod increases your chances of applying Status Effects and Cold debuff. Combined with the innate Slash and Puncture effects that your shots apply, you can add more negative conditions against enemies. If you are using Jade, these Status Effects can increase your overall damage.
  • Firestorm: Firestorm ramps up the damage dealt by your explosions when firing Evensong. The mod increases the Blast Radius, which means more enemies affected. When you consider the fact that you have mods and passives that activate Multishots, you can set off more explosions with each Shot.
  • Cautious Shot (Exilus): Using a bow can sometimes mess up your aim due to the recoil. Cautious Shot minimizes this issue by providing a massive chance of eliminating self-imposed Staggers. You maintain your accuracy most of the time to consistently land headshots.

Arcane Primary Deadhead: Primary Deadhead might be tricky to run, but the rewards are worth it if you can consistently land headshots. It ramps up your damage to greater heights while reducing recoil so that you can aim more precisely.
